As a Ruby on Rails Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining core applications for the ExactRx platform, enabling hospitals to streamline operations and deliver better patient care. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the ExactRx team to define, design, and implement new platform features.
  • Develop and maintain scalable web applications using Ruby on Rails, contributing to both backend and frontend systems.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code that adheres to best practices and coding standards.
  • Optimize application performance and resolve bottlenecks to enhance user experience.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and propose innovative solutions to enhance the platform.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 5+ years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails or similar frameworks (e.g., Django, Laravel).
  • Full-stack development experience, with expertise in backend and frontend technologies.
  • Proficiency in frontend technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as React.js, Vue.js, or Angular.
  • Strong understanding of database systems (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.).
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and working with microservices architectures.
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks such as RSpec or Minitest.
  • Proficient in version control systems like Git, using platforms like GitHub or GitLab.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Familiarity with containerization tools (Docker) and orchestration frameworks (Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CircleCI).
  • Exposure to GraphQL or real-time communication tools (ActionCable, WebSockets).
  • Understanding of DevOps practices and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Background in building and scaling high-traffic applications.
